The maths

What sits behind the numbers

If you cancel

The deduction is calculated on the full unit price

This is the part that surprises most people. In most contracts the deduction is not calculated on what you have paid. It is calculated on the total price of the unit. So if the unit is 10M and the deduction is 15%, that is 1.5M, even if you have only paid 2M.

  • What comes back = amount paid − (unit price × deduction rate)
  • If the result is negative, you can end up with nothing
  • And it is paid to you in installments over years, not in cash
If you transfer

There is no deduction at all

Because the contract is not cancelled, it moves. The new buyer pays you exactly what you have paid, and continues the installments to the developer on the same terms and dates. No party loses anything, and the developer gains a client who can pay instead of one who cannot.

  • What comes back = everything you paid
  • Cash on completion of the transfer
  • Platform fee on you: zero
